Marketers Slam Proposed Social Media Regulations

The FFIEC wanted to know what financial marketers thought of the sweeping new social media regulations they proposed back in January, so they asked the industry for feedback. The public commenting period just came to a close, and here’s what banks and credit unions had to say — raw, uncensored criticism.

When the FFIEC released its proposed guidelines (available here) for social media management in the banking sector, they also asked for feedback on three specific questions:

1. Are there other types of social media, or ways in which financial institutions are using social media, that are not included in the proposed guidance but that should be included?
