On-site: BAI Payments Connect 2012
by: Bob Thompson, VP Business Development at CUinsight.com
General Sessions were held each morning featuring expert presentations on Flexible Payment Strategy for an Era of Uncertainty, Hardening Payment Systems for the Next Generation, and The Future of DDA Revenue and Relationships in a Payment Networks World.
The conference provided three robust tracks specifically designed to drill down on critical issues that are priorities for forward thinking payment executives – Emerging Payment Strategies, Combating Payments Fraud, and CheckImage.
The speakers, moderators, and panelists had a variety of backgrounds and were all experts in their fields. The presentations provoked a great deal of thought , discussion, and insight as well as placing a special emphasis on the impact of mobile and social media payments that simultaneously present both opportunities and risk to credit unions.
The Expo showcase allowed the attendees to interact with the exhibitors and learn more about solutions and services to help their credit unions. This event was packed with a great agenda that provided a generous amount of time for peers to network and discuss perspectives and share best practices. The attendees that I had the opportunity to speak with sang praises about the organization of this event and remarked that they will be returning again next year.
The BAI Payments Connect is an excellent event for credit union payment executives as the payment landscape is changing so quickly. I highly encourage you to attend the conference next year in Phoenix, March 11 – 13.
