188 earn CUCE designation at CUNA Regulatory Compliance Certification School

WASHINGTON, DC (July 3, 2017) — Attendees of the spring CUNA Regulatory Compliance Certification School in San Antonio earned or recertified the Credit Union Compliance Expert (CUCE) designation. By becoming or recertifying as CUCEs, these 188 designees demonstrated extensive knowledge of the fundamentals of credit union compliance.

“You gain so much insight and gather so much information to bring back to your credit union,” said attendee Elizabeth Kochmann, CUCE, compliance officer at United Savings CU. “CUNA’s Regulatory Compliance Certification School will increase your confidence when it comes to fulfilling your compliance responsibilities.”

To earn the CUCE designation, CUNA Regulatory Compliance Certification School students must complete a five-day series of in-depth sessions that cover the most crucial areas of regulations: NCUA requirements, consumer lending, mortgage lending, deposit accounts and general operations. After finishing the classes and passing five exams, students receive their designation.

106 attendees earned their designation by completing the Introduction School, learning fundamental compliance knowledge. Additionally, 82 CUCEs recertified their designation through the Update School, which provides an update on current and proposed regulatory changes and hosts high-level classes exploring specific current issues.
