Members 1st names new Chief Lending Officer
MECHANICSBURG, PA (January 11, 2022) — Members 1st Federal Credit Union has announced that Jeff Ernst has been named Chief Lending Officer (CLO) as of January 3, 2022 following the retirement of CLO Karen Christian in December 2021.
In his new role, Ernst will ensure that Members 1st maintains its strong lending infrastructure. He will oversee all aspects of the credit union’s lending efforts including but not limited to member service, achievement of the credit union’s lending goals, the loan pipeline, service levels and numerous software systems.
Ernst has worked in the underwriting, lending and risk management field for over 30 years, having spent 25 of those years in management. Prior to being named CLO, Ernst served as the credit union’s Senior Vice President of Consumer Lending for five years.
“Jeff has been a valued member of our team since joining the credit union,” said Members 1st President & CEO George Nahodil. “He has helped to ensure that the credit union has a healthy lending portfolio available for our members, and he has managed the growth of our consumer lending area. We are excited to have him lead this crucial part of our business.”
Ernst has been part of the Members 1st faM1ly for five years since joining the credit union in 2016. He holds Master of Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees in Applied Mathematics from Shippensburg University. Ernst has been married to his wife Jann for 31 years. He has a daughter who is currently serving in the United States Air Force and a son who is a mechanical engineer, both graduates of The Pennsylvania State University.
