Advantage One Credit Union virtually launches Alkami digital banking platform and Symitar core conversion simultaneously
BROWNSTOWN, MI (July 3, 2020) — During unprecedented times and while facing multiple obstacles, Advantage One Credit Union successfully launched their new digital banking platform and converted their core processing system. Advantage One partnered with Alkami Technology, Inc. and Symitar on this nearly two-year-long endeavor.
“With more and more members wanting our services at the tips of their fingers, it was imperative for us to partner with companies who could provide this. We wanted our new digital banking platform to be modern, customizable and provide a strong user experience, allowing us to compete with the megabanks in the area,” said Advantage One CEO Chris Corkery. “With our core, we wanted a system that would be user-friendly and allow our employees to provide a faster, more efficient service to our members. After working with a consulting firm and vetting numerous possibilities, we decided that Alkami and Symitar were the best fit for us, as our visions aligned perfectly.”
In order to meet the scheduled launch date of June 1st and overcome the complications of completing all milestones virtually, the teams had to reevaluate their communication plans and modify how testing and training would be done without any onsite assistance. The conversion teams utilized voice and video conferencing, created a ticketing system to streamline the testing process and dedicated specific team members to critical roles.
After months of conference calls and collaborations, all parties were pleased when June 1st arrived and both systems were able to be launched as planned. In the first week alone, Advantage One had an adoption rate of over 40% for their new mobile app, which is above average for most of Alkami’s clients. Representatives at Alkami were impressed with how smoothly the virtual launch ran, which they attributed to Advantage One’s testing and validation process.
