Affinity Federal Credit Union Helps Sergio & Company Bounce Back From Hurricane Irene

Denville, NJ (Thursday, October 25, 2012) — Sheriffa Ali of Wharton was glad she attended the St. Francis Fair in Denville recently!  She won a $25 gift certificate from Sergio & Co. Italian Specialties, which offers a delicious array of deli foods and other Italian gourmet items.

The gift certificate was part of a unique effort by Basking Ridge-based Affinity Federal Credit Union to support its business members who are just now reopening after last year’s Hurricane Irene.  Many are still in need of support to get their business back on track.

“Although more than a year has passed since hurricane Irene, many of our small, local businesses continue to feel the affects,” said Ann Gardner, business development officer of Affinity Federal Credit Union.  “Highlighting them at the St. Francis Festival allowed us to show our support and bring attention to their plight.  We hope the added exposure helps them get back on their feet.”
