Akcelerant achieves the AT 101 Soc 2 Type 2 Compliance

MALVERN, PA (January 23, 2014) — Akcelerant, a provider of software and services to the financial industry, successfully completed the AT 101 SOC 2 audit and has attained SOC 2 Type 2 status. Akcelerant’s operating policies were reviewed by Auditwerx, a licensed Certified Public Accounting Firm and one of the nation’s leading firms in this specialty.

The advancement from SOC 1 to SOC 2 status is a reflection of Akcelerant’s standing as a growing software and services company in the financial industry. In order to satisfy compliance requirements for SOC 2 Type 2, as opposed to SOC 1Type 2, Akcelerant underwent testing and review to meet measurable criteria correlating to the Trust Service Principles (TSP 100) enacted by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

The SOC 2 audit performed by Auditwerx focused on the Trust Service Principles of Security and Confidentiality to meet the TSP 100 requirements. The review of these controls scrutinized Akcelerant’s updated security standards for internal and external communications, progressive security policies regarding data storage and protection, periodic risk assessment, and change management. The audit examined controls related to Akcelerant’s internal policies and multiple products lines for suitability of design and operational effectiveness, and found all items to be in compliance.

“Akcelerant is committed to providing the best quality and the highest confidence in our products and services. We continually strive to enhance our effectiveness in all areas, as well as to instill assurance and peace of mind in our customers and business partners. This annual audit provides us with the opportunity to evaluate how we can continue to meet and exceed industry standards,” states Emily Steele, president and chief operating officer at Akcelerant.
