Altura Credit Union named a 2017 ‘Top Workplace’ by The Press-Enterprise newspaper

For large employers with more than 350 employees

RIVERSIDE, CA (January 19, 2018) — Altura Credit Union, headquartered in Riverside, Calif., has been named a “Top Workplace” in the Inland Empire for 2017 by The Press-Enterprise, the area’s largest newspaper. The Inland Empire, which is about 60 miles east of metro Los Angeles, encompasses the Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario metro area.

Altura was ranked #4 among the top seven employers in the “Large” employer category of 350 employees or more. It is the only financial services organization of the top seven. It also achieved this rank even though it is just over the required number of employees for this category with 354. Additionally, Altura was the only consumer financial services organization to be recognized across all three categories of employers; small, midsize and large.

“We are very proud to once again be recognized as a top workplace,” said Jennifer Binkley, Altura president and CEO. “Our employees are vital to meeting the needs of our Membership. We strive to create an environment where they feel empowered and engaged, and where we recognize their contributions through competitive benefits and value the importance of work-life balance.”

According to the Press-Enterprise, the Top Workplaces were determined based solely on employee feedback from more than 8,000 Inland Empire employees who responded to a survey from Energage, an employee research and consulting firm. Survey participants were given 24 statements about their workplaces and asked to rank them on a seven-point scale from strongly disagree to strongly agree. Additionally, employees were asked about benefits, leadership and engagement.
