America First Credit Union members and employees collected more than 18,500 pounds of food

14th Annual Community Food Drive donations get distributed to local food banks

RENO, NEV (October 30, 2018) — Dedicated to helping the underprivileged in the communities it serves, America First Credit Union, collected food items from all branches across Utah and southern Nevada for its 14th Annual Community Food Drive. All donations were taken by the Utah Food Bank and Three Square Food Bank on Thursday, Oct. 25. With the help of the community and employees, the credit union collected 18,662 pounds of non-perishable food items and donated $5,000 worth of turkeys, which equates to 14,768 meals. This many meals will provide 41 families with food for one month. The items will be distributed to local food pantries in advance of the holiday season.

During September and October all America First Credit Union branches served as drop off locations for the 14th Annual Community Food Drive. America First Credit Union started the community food drive in 2004 and throughout the years has collected more than 185,000 pounds of food for those in need.
