American 1 pleased to host additional Shred Day event in Jackson community, based on popular demand

JACKSON, MI (May 16, 2022) — American 1 Credit Union will be holding an additional Jackson Shred Day event from 4-6pm on Wednesday, May 18, at the Westwood Mall.

“Typically, we host one Shred Day per community, but our recent Jackson Shred Day was a major success, and we filled the truck in just a few hours,” said Janelle Merritt, Community Partnerships Manager for American 1. “We are pleased to offer a second Jackson Shred Day in 2022. We work hard to be available for our members, especially when it comes to financial wellness.”

Angela Hadley, Risk Manager for American 1, added that she is extremely pleased to see community members taking advantage of this opportunity.

“Unfortunately, there are a lot of scammers out there who will stop at nothing to steal information, and our Shred Day events are a great way to destroy personal documents,” Hadley said. “Our team works hard to educate our communities on the importance of protecting themselves from scams, fraud, and identity theft.”

Free shred days are a way to safely and securely destroy personal documents that include important and private information you would never want anyone to have. American 1 uses reputable shred companies to bring a shredding truck on-site to shred day and can shred your documents before you leave. The shred companies properly dispose of shred material and recycle the material in a secure process, so no personal information is vulnerable.
