American Eagle Financial Credit Union announces month-long salute to veterans

EAST HARTFORD, CT (October 26, 2020) — American Eagle Financial Credit Union (AEFCU), Connecticut’s largest community-focused credit union, continues its long-standing support of veterans with today’s announcement of a month-long celebration of veterans, their families and the organizations that support them.

AEFCU’s Veterans Month in November will honor the men and women who have served our country with an American Eagle Honor Roll of Veterans to be displayed on AEFCU’s website.  The public is invited to submit names of themselves, former family members or friends who retired from the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines or Navy.  Their names will appear on AEFCU’s Honor Roll of Veterans throughout November as a “thank-you” for their service.

Additionally, AEFCU will award a total of $5,000 in grants from its Donor Advised Fund at the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving to organizations that support veterans. Each Monday in November (November 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30), AEFCU will announce a $1,000 grant to a different organization as chosen by a group of AEFCU employees.  Please follow American Eagle on social media throughout November to learn about the grant recipient organizations and how they support our veterans.

“We can never thank our veterans enough for all they do, and have done, for our country. By sharing our gratitude and appreciation during the entire month of November, we hope to show that we will always remember and honor their service,” said Dean Marchessault, president and chief executive officer of American Eagle Financial Credit Union.  “Our month-long program is being spearheaded by the employees of AEFCU who are helping to build the American Eagle Honor Roll of Veterans, and determining the recipients of our weekly donations to various veterans’ organizations.  This was truly a labor of love for all.”
