American Heritage Credit Union carries out annual holiday giving to local families in need

Credit Union’s Adopt-a-Family Programs Raises Over $29,000 to Support Toy, Clothing, and Essential Donations for Children and Families

PHILADELPHIA, PA (December 14, 2022) — American Heritage Credit Union (“American Heritage”) celebrates its annual giving season with its community and credit union family through Adopt-A-Family programs and donation drives to embody the credit union “people helping people” philosophy.

American Heritage’s Adopt-A-Family Program, with the support of the Board of Directors, associates, and members, raised over $26,000 to purchase “wish list” items for 21 families in the areas American Heritage serves, including the Norristown Salvation Army, Northeast Family YMCA, CADCOM, Thea Bowman Women’s Shelter in Philadelphia, and the Jewish Community Center of Greater Philadelphia. Each family’s wish list included toys, books, and necessities such as coats and footwear. American Heritage’s Board of Directors also donated ShopRite gift cards worth $700 for each of those families to cover grocery costs this holiday season.

The program also supports children from Ridge Crest Pediatric Services to provide essentials such as health care supplies, toiletries, and cleaning supplies for the non-profit. Ridge Crest in Sellersville, PA cares for and provides health services for children with severe to profound intellectual disabilities. This year, American Heritage adopted 29 children from Ridge Crest and supplied them with a variety of essentials needed this season. During the past 33 years, American Heritage’s Adopt-A-Family Program has raised over $318,000 for local families and children in need.

Additionally, American Heritage’s Business Development team partnered with Catholic Community Services to purchase gifts for 24 children who are a part of the agency’s child welfare services. Roughly $3,000 was donated by American Heritage to purchase over 50 presents for the agency.
