American Heritage culminates Season of Giving with toy donations, contributions of $50,000 and 13,000 pounds of food to local families in need

Adopt-a-Family and spirit of giving food drive assists hundreds of local families

PHILADELPHIA, PA (December 22, 2020) — American Heritage Credit Union (“American Heritage”) culminated its annual holiday season of giving with a variety of donations including canned goods, hot meals, toys, essentials, and monetary donations to organizations and not-for-profits within its community.

  • As part of its latest Spirit of Giving Food Drive initiative, American Heritage provided non-perishable food boxes, turkey and ham dinners, and $25,000 in contributions in the form of $100 gift cards to over 250 families in need in the Philadelphia area. American Heritage already donated 13,000 pounds of food and $20,000 to 14 local food banks prior to Thanksgiving.
  • American Heritage’s Adopt-A-Family program raised over $20,000 to purchase wish lists items for 20 families in the areas American Heritage serves, in partnership with the Norristown Salvation Army, Northeast Family YMCA, CADCOM, Thea Bowman Women’s Shelter in Philadelphia, Carson Valley Children’s Aid and the Jewish Community Center of Greater Philadelphia. Each family’s wish lists included toys, books, and necessities like coats and boots. Additionally, American Heritage’s Board of Directors donated 30 gift cards of $500 from ShopRite to be distributed to families throughout the community.
  • The Adopt-A-Family program also adopted 24 children from Ridge Crest Pediatric Services to provide the children with essentials such as health care supplies, toiletries, and cleaning supplies for the non-profit. Ridge Crest in Sellersville cares for and provides health services for children with severe to profound intellectual disabilities.

“Our associates, Board of Directors and members came together to make this a very special holiday for many local families who needed our help,” stated Bruce K. Foulke, American Heritage’s President & CEO. “Credit unions are about people helping people.  This year, there are so many families who needed help more than ever. I am proud that the American Heritage community was willing to give of their time, energy, and resources to brighten the lives of others.  On behalf of our Board of Directors and associates, I wish everyone a safe and happy holiday.”
