America’s First Credit Union announces digital services expansion

Updated website, launch of online banking app signals mindful, member-focused shift

Birmingham, Alabama-based America’s First Federal Credit Union (AmFirst) today announced the expansion of its digital services with the launch of an updated, more user-friendly website and the introduction of its new digital banking platform, complete with a redesigned mobile app.

“Digital banking technologies are expanding at rapid speeds, and we want to ensure current and future AmFirst members have the best experience possible,” said Bill Connor, President/CEO, AmFirst. “Our industry is adjusting to meet the demand for hands-on, instant access to services and information from anywhere, and AmFirst is now enhancing its ability to meet that demand.”

The new AmFirst.org provides a more intuitive, easier navigation with quicker access options for end users. New and existing members, as well as those searching for general information on the 83-year-old credit union, will notice a cleaner, more modern look and approach to its sitemap and navigation.

“It wasn’t simply a question of modernizing the way we presented ourselves online, but more so the commitment of providing our members the same level of service digitally that we do in our physical branch locations,” said Kyle McDougal, AmFirst brand management officer.

AmFirst’s digital banking application now provides members with quick access to accounts and available balances while ensuring more control over transfers and Bill Pay scheduling.

Other key digital banking features include mobile eStatements, redemption of reward points, trackable outside accounts, transfers, card controls, budgeting/savings tools, loan applications, FICO credit scores (members with current loans), customizable themes and enhanced business services.

“Business members will now have heightened control over who can access their online banking information and the capabilities of each user,” said Connor. “The new platform allows for the ability to set up sub-users, individual user limits and roles, limited access to accounts and bill pay, and created entitlement — all enhancing business security.”

All online banking capabilities for individual and business members can be accessed via the AmFirst Digital Banking app.

“What has historically worked for our members in terms of capabilities has to evolve to fit the new members of today and tomorrow,” added McDougal. “Offering a leading website and digital banking experience is in keeping with our commitment to provide our members with financial services to meet, not only their needs, but their expectations — and what they expect from their financial institutions — is progress.”
