AmFirst to launch #takemetoIndy22 contest as part of Honda Grand Prix of Alabama sponsorship

Participants have the chance to score General Admission tickets or a Grand Prize Indy Experience Package to the April 29-May 1 event

BIRMINGHAM, AL (April 4, 2022) — America’s First Federal Credit Union (AmFirst) is set to launch its multilayered #takemetoIndy22 social media contest on Tuesday, April 5, as part of its presenting sponsorship of the 2022 Honda Grand Prix of Alabama, set for April 29-May 1 at Barber Motorsports Park.

Through April 11, contest participants will have the chance to win General Admission tickets and will automatically be entered for the Grand Prize Indy Experience Package, which includes two Sunday race tickets with free parking, Paddock access with a guided tour, two Paddock Club hospitality passes (includes free food and beverages), two passes to Driver Introduction, two rides in 2-seater Indy car and two Barber Motorsports museum passes.

“Our presenting sponsorship of the 2022 Honda Grand Prix of Alabama is one we know racing enthusiasts and general spectators alike can get behind,” said AmFirst Senior Vice President and Chief Sales Officer Phil Boozer. “We encourage both AmFirst members and non-members to participate for the chance to experience this iconic Birmingham-area event in true VIP style.”

Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama, presented by AmFirst, is in its 12th year in Birmingham and takes place at the world famous Barber Motorsports Park. The three-day event features the same cars and drivers as the Indy 500 competing on a 2.38 mile road course.

The #takemetoIndy22 activation will consist of multiple chances to win:

1.     An April 5-8 Facebook and Instagram-based scavenger hunt integrating various local AmFirst branches. Each day, a branded AmFirst vehicle will be located at a pre-determined AmFirst branch. Clues as to which branch will be posted on Facebook and Instagram each contest morning. Participants will need to find the branch location of the day, travel to that site and answer the trivia question with participating AmFirst marketing staff. Daily winners will receive a family-four-pack of General Admission weekend tickets. To be eligible for the Grand Prize, these scavenger hunt winners must post a photo with the AmFirst vehicle they found, tag AmFirst (@amfirst) and use the hashtag #takemetoIndy22. The post must be public so all entries can be populated. Third-party site Woobox will randomly generate winners.

2.     An April 11 Instagram contest. By taking a selfie with the AmFirst Sprinter Van and posting it to Instagram — tagging AmFirst (@amfirstcu) and using the hashtag #takemetoIndy22 — individuals can win both the four-pack of General Admission tickets and be entered for the #takemetoIndy22 Grand Prize package. Third-party site Woobox will randomly generate winners.

3.     An April 11 AmFirst Website Contest. On April 11, a picture of an Indy car will be placed on a random page of the AmFirst website. There will be clues as to which webpage the car is located on, on Facebook. Once someone finds the clickable image, they will click and be directed to a form on the site, which will ask for their name and contact information. All entered information will be put into a random name generator, which will pick a winner to receive a family-four-pack of General Admission tickets.

A total of 18 family-four-packs of General Admission weekend tickets (72 total tickets) will be awarded.
