Andrews Federal Credit Union board director Emeritus nominated into DCUC hall of honor

SUITLAND, MD (September 1, 2021) — The Defense Credit Union Council (DCUC) has inducted General Frank Cardile, Board Director Emeritus of Andrews Federal Credit Union, into the 2020 DCUC Hall of Honor for his considerable contributions to the defense credit union community. The DCUC recognized Gen. Cardile during its DCUC’s 58th annual conference in Naples, Florida on August 10-13, 2021.

Andrews Federal could not be more grateful to Gen. Frank Cardile for his service to the credit union. He originally joined the Andrews Federal Board of Directors in 1993 and has served multiple terms as Chairman and Vice-Chairman. During his 28-year tenure of leadership at Andrews Federal, the organization has grown from $432 million to $2.2 billion in total assets.

“BG. Cardile is a deeply passionate volunteer with a comforting voice of reason,” said Ken Orgeron, Acting CEO/President of Andrews Federal. “He has propelled Andrews Federal forward at an impressive rate. We are beyond thrilled to see his accomplishments acknowledged by the DCUC Hall of Honor.”

DCUC is a premier association representing defense credit unions that serve the U.S. Armed Forces worldwide. The DCUC Hall of Honor was established in 2000 to acknowledge individuals whose exceptional contributions have significantly impacted the defense credit union community. This coveted award highlights the outstanding accomplishments of leaders and volunteers who have dedicated their time and attention to benefit the credit union movement. Those nominated into the DCUC Hall of Honor epitomize the DCUC philosophy of “Serving Those Who Serve Our Country.”

Gen. Cardile is a graduate of West Point. He had an illustrious 30-year career in the United States Air Force. Upon retiring from the Air Force, Gen. Cardile worked at the Lockheed Martin Corporation as Vice President of Information Technology. He also served as President of Betac Corporation and as President of ACS Defense.

Gen. Cardile currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Andrews Shares Foundation along with many other local, state, national, and international credit union activities in his spare time. He has also served on the Air Force Retired Officers Community Board of Directors in Sterling, Virginia.
