Argent Credit Union board elects new chairman

CHESTER, VA (June 2, 2015) — Argent Credit Union is pleased to announce that Gary D. Miller was recently elected Chairman of the Board. Miller, formerly Secretary of the Board, moved into the role of Chairman, previously held by Betty Moore Beverly since May 2010. Mrs. Beverly, a 15 year volunteer with Argent Credit Union continues to serve as a Director of the Board.

As an Argent volunteer since 2012, Mr. Miller has served in the capacity of Associate Director, Director of the Board, Secretary of the Board and has held various Committee posts.

“As a 30 year Member of Argent Credit Union, Gary Miller brings a valuable long-term member perspective – helping to make significant decisions that benefit the membership as a whole as well as for the future growth of Argent. Gary’s commitment to support the credit union as Chairman of the Board speaks volumes about his dedication,” said Rose Gilliam, President/CEO.

Mr. Miller has been employed with DuPont for over 36 years working at the Spruance site in Chesterfield County. Currently, Gary is a member of the Spruance Information Technology team. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from North Carolina State University and a Masters of Business Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University.

As a member of Southminster Presbyterian Church, Gary has participated in their volunteer activities such as Habitat for Humanity, Camp Hanover, and relief efforts in Mississippi after Hurricane Katrina. Gary also serves on the Board for the Oktoberfest of Richmond, Inc.
