Back by Popular Demand: John Spence is Returning for NAFCU 2013 Management and Leadership Institute

Early Bird Registration Deadline August 8

WASHINGTON, DC (July 31, 2013) — John Spence is returning to present his full-day leadership skills workshop, “Leader of the Future,” for emerging credit union leaders at NAFCU’s 2013 Management and Leadership Institute (MLI) Oct. 7- 11, at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel in Philadelphia.

“John Spence’s workshop last year was such a huge hit, it was a no-brainer to have him teach again at this year’s event,” said Anthony Demangone, NAFCU executive vice president and COO, and MLI faculty member. “John will help rising credit union leaders learn the building blocks of how to spearhead a high-performing team.”

One of the most highly respected executive educators and professional speakers in America, Spence has been recognized as one of the Top 100 Thought Leaders in Trustworthy Business Behavior. He has presented workshops, speeches and executive coaching to more than 300 organizations. Spence is also the author of several books, including “Excellence by Design: the Six Key Characteristics of Outstanding Leaders.” Each student will receive a free, signed copy of one of his books.

The in-depth curriculum for this year’s MLI will address cutting-edge research on effective leadership skills, provide a solid understanding of financial management, offer creative tools to successfully build relationships with credit union board members and colleagues, and more. Students will also be encouraged to create their own personal leadership development plan.

The deadline for early bird registration for NAFCU members and nonmembers is August 8. Visit www.nafcu.org/management/ to register.
