Best Selling Author Kyle Maynard Makes a Difference for Wright-Patt Credit Union Employees
Fairborn, Ohio. – On Monday, October 8th Wright-Patt Credit Union presented Kyle Maynard a congenital amputee, champion athlete, motivational speaker, and best-selling author with their “Making a Difference” award for his outstanding personal achievements and inspiration to others. Mr. Maynard spoke to more than 500 WPCU partner-employees and sent them off inspired to spend their afternoon volunteering at the 25 Southwest Ohio community organizations listed below. Overall, more than 1,000 volunteer hours were logged that day.
Shanda McKinney, Vice President of Human Resources introduced Kyle to the audience. She stated, “Kyle is a unique individual born with a condition known as congenital amputation. He never let his condition get in the way of his desire to wrestle competitively and to reach the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro on his own.” She explained to the partner-employees that she saw Kyle speak and read his book, No Excuses and just felt he was the obvious choice to inspire the dedicated staff at Wright-Patt Credit Union. After Kyle gave a very emotional and inspirational speech to the audience, she presented him with the “Making a Difference” award as a sign of appreciation.
Douglas Fecher, President & CEO, said “I was excited to have Kyle Maynard send everyone off to their afternoon volunteer activities because his words and his drive should be something that every partner-employee relates to as they make no excuses to accomplish their own personal goals.” He continued, “everyone has a story and we never want to forget that at Wright-Patt Credit Union.”
