BHFCU shares the warmth in Rapid City

RAPID CITY, SD (October 27, 2020) — As the cold weather grows near, staying warm becomes a higher priority. Each year, Black Hills FCU is proud to participate in the Cornerstone Rescue Mission’s Share the Warmth Blanket Drive.

For health and safety reasons, this year, BHFCU collected monetary donations. The total money raised was used to purchase 42 new blankets, pillowcases, and sheets. These items were donated to the Cornerstone Rescue Mission to be distributed among the Black Hills area homeless.

Amanda Grohs, Downtown Member Service Center teller supervisor, and Brandi Wells, teller support specialist, co-chaired the BHFCU effort this year. “During the winter months, bedding items and blankets are in higher demand to keep the community’s homeless population warm and safe,” said Grohs and Wells. “Each year, the Cornerstone Rescue Mission is truly appreciative of any support the credit union can provide.”

The Cornerstone Rescue Mission serves the physical and spiritual needs of more than 500 people in the Rapid City area every day with the goal of helping each individual become self-sufficient.
