BloomCU’s interactive chatbot Aurora gives credit union website its cutting edge
COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS, UT (June 14, 2017) — Award-winning credit union website design firm BloomCU launched Aurora this month, a cutting-edge interactive chatbot that simplifies credit unions’ often complex website navigation.
“Websites have been static, like online brochures, since the 90s,” says Derik Krauss, BloomCU Co-Founder. “Our chatbot was built to mimic human interactions. With Aurora, it’s like members are having a conversation with someone who understands them and can help them find what they’re looking for.”
BloomCU tracked visitor behavior with recorded session replays when Aurora 1.0 debuted in May on Spirit of Alaska Federal Credit Union’s revamped website. On day one of the launch, Aurora helped guide a user through the site to apply for a $20,000 personal loan.
Using a system of intricate flowcharts based on Spirit of Alaska’s diverse products and services, BloomCU built Aurora to meet the credit union’s specific needs. Other credit unions are now lining up for their own customized version of the versatile software.
Aurora version 2.0 is currently in development. The chatbot’s next iteration will draw on personalized content, meaning Aurora will automatically show content relevant to users’ current interests based on their behaviors during previous visits to the site. For example, if a user visits the auto loan page, Aurora might share a useful blog post about auto loans on the user’s next visit. Then Aurora may invite her to calculate her car payment, ask if she has any questions about auto loans, recommend related products and services, share a relevant promotion, or offer to notify an agent who will follow up with more information.
Based on BloomCU’s testing, personalization results in more website clicks and increased engagement. BloomCU plans to start rolling out Aurora 2.0 gradually this summer.
“Because they’re such a flexible way to simplify navigation, we believe chatbots will play a significant role in the future of credit union website design,” Krauss says. “And with Aurora 2.0, Spirit of Alaska will be the most personalized credit union website in existence.”
