Community 1st Credit Union signs on with PSCU for contact center support

CUSO to provide expanded member support for Iowa-based credit union

ST. PETERSBURG, FL (June 18, 2015) – PSCU has announced that Community 1st Credit Union, headquartered in Ottumwa, Ia., has joined the nation’s leading CUSO after an extensive partner evaluation process. The credit union, which currently has more than 55,000 members, $530 million in assets, and 16 locations in 14 cities, signed a five-year deal with PSCU.

“We recognized the need for a partner to help us handle the increase in member inquiries which are sure to result from our pending core conversion scheduled for this fall,” said Jeff Rose, Community 1st President and CEO. “A partner with PSCU’s scale and resources will allow us to keep up with the increased volume of calls. Their Total Member Care 24/7/365 contact centers will enable us to provide our members with a higher level of service and support, whenever it’s convenient for them. Our members can now look forward to expanded hours, reduced wait times, and significant improvement in their overall communication experience with Community 1st.”

PSCU’s Total Member Care 24/7/365 contact centers deliver a comprehensive approach to member support. In addition to handling inquiries on a variety of financial services, the contact centers help credit unions communicate effectively with their members about mergers, EMV upgrades, data processing, home banking conversions and regulatory changes. All services are available via bilingual representatives 24/7/365 to ensure maximum satisfaction and loyalty.
PSCU will provide overflow and after hours support, including during situations in which inclement weather or other threats may affect Community 1st call center operations. Rose believes the additional support will provide a distinct advantage that will enhance Community 1st member satisfaction and loyalty across the board, allowing them to better deliver on the overall member experience.

“PSCU’s top priority is servicing our member credit unions and their members with exceptional quality, as we aim to help member owners achieve maximum portfolio growth,” said Chuck Fagan, PSCU CEO and President. “Community 1st was able to see our offerings firsthand during visits to our call center in Allen Park, Mich., and at our annual member forum where we demonstrate how every one of our team members works to earn the loyalty of each PSCU credit union member owner.”

Currently, Community 1st is focusing efforts on its call center. According to Rose, he is looking forward to other opportunities to expand the relationship with PSCU down the road.
