CommunityAmerica CEO Lisa Ginter named Chair of Credit Union National Association

LENEXA, KS (February 28, 2023) — CommunityAmerica Credit Union CEO Lisa Ginter has been named Chair of the Credit Union National Association (CUNA). The vote was completed yesterday, and the formal announcement was made at the Governmental Affairs Conference in Washington D.C. this afternoon.

Ginter is a 30+ year veteran of the financial services industry, working with credit unions her entire career. She has served as CEO of CommunityAmerica Credit Union in the greater Kansas City region since 2015, leading the organization through record membership growth.

““It’s an honor to chair CUNA’s Board at a time when the credit union movement is looking to build on great momentum, and I look forward to continued work with CUNA, Leagues, and credit unions to make good on our commitment to improve financial well-being” Ginter said. “Our combination of steadfast focus on our members and determination to advance the communities we serve means credit unions have plenty to work for in the next year and beyond.”

CUNA is the most credible financial services trade association and the only national association that advocates on behalf of all of America’s credit unions. They work tirelessly to protect the best interests of people in Washington and all 50 states. Ginter will be leading CUNA for the next year with the mission of putting a spotlight on the importance of credit unions to all Americans as she advocates for members’ rights at a national level. Ginter is the 52nd chair and just the sixth woman. She will serve in this role through the 2024 Annual General Meeting.
