KALAMAZOO, MI (February 12, 2020) — Arbor Financial Credit Union is pleased to announce the hiring of Craig Sutherland as the organization’s Senior Commercial Lender in the Kent County market. Sutherland comes to Arbor Financial with 15 years of experience in commercial banking and financial services. Prior to Arbor Financial, Sutherland’s most recently worked at Bank of America as a Vice President in the Business Banking space. Sutherland has been a Grand Rapids resident for seven years and is active with various business and charitable organizations in the area.
As Senior Commercial Lender, Sutherland’s primary responsibilities will include commercial credit origination and business development. Sutherland’s expertise is in commercial credit origination with a detailed focus on healthcare lending, such as family medical practices, dentists, and oral surgeons.
Judith Robbins, Vice President of Commercial and Private Banking, says, “Craig’s expertise in the healthcare segment, specifically financing acquisitions, will enhance Arbor’s presence in this industry. He also brings a deep understanding of Commercial Real Estate transactions. Upon joining Arbor Financial, Sutherland says that he is, “very excited for the ability to make lending decisions locally, and to work with a nimble and growing commercial lending team. I enjoy the family atmosphere and close-knit Arbor team.” In his free time, Sutherland says that he is an avid home cook, enjoys practicing yoga with his wife, attending his son’s sporting events, and playing basketball.
