Credit Union hires Micro Lending Officer

SPARTANBURG, SC (August 4, 2018) — Carolina Foothills Federal Credit Union has hired Scott L. Whelchel as a Micro Lending Officer.  Whelchel has over 15 years experience in small business consulting; moving clients through a process to build business plans with valid financial projections. He will be the liaison between the small business member and the credit union, with a special emphasis on educating small business owners on inherent risk factors associated with starting and maintaining a  business.

Whelchel holds a Bachelor of  Science degree from Clemson University in Agricultural Economics and a Master’s degree from Pennsylvania State University in Agricultural   Economics and Demography.  He is a Certified Economic Development Financial      Professional by the National Development Council and a Certified Global Business     Professional by the National Association of Small Business International Trade Educators.  He was most recently employed by Clemson University Small Business Development  Center as Greenville Area Manager.
