Credit Union West selects Cheryl Brown as Chief Human Resources Officer

GLENDALE, AZ (December 7, 2021) — Credit Union West announced today that Cheryl Brown has been selected as its newest executive overseeing all functions of Human Resources.

As the VP, Chief Human Resources Officer, Brown will lead the efforts of diversity, equity and inclusion, employee engagement, employee relations, company culture, talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, performance management and organizational learning and development.

“Cheryl brings an exceptional combination of energy, knowledge, and proven leadership, which will contribute nicely to our strong values focused on people and culture,” says Karen Roch, President and CEO. “Growing our team, diversifying our workforce, and retaining top talent are all very important to Credit Union West, especially as the industry continues to face the challenges of a post-pandemic workforce.”

Brown is a senior executive with 25 years of experience in HR. Most recently, she served as SVP, Chief People and Organizational Excellence Officer for Publix Employees Federal Credit Union. Prior to this role, she was the Chief Culture and Organizational Excellence Officer for USF Federal Credit Union. She holds an MBA from Walden University with a specialization in Human Resources, and earned her BBA in Business Administration-Accounting, from North Carolina Central University.
