Credit unions donate 110 gift cards to Sanford Children’s Hospital

Each year at the Dakota Credit Union Association’s Annual Summit, a “give back” project is organized to benefit an organization within the community where the event is being held. This year, attendees gathering in Fargo, ND on May 9 – 10 were asked to bring gift cards in $25 increments for the local Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospital, Sanford Children’s.

At the end of the two-day event, 110 cash gift cards were donated by credit unions throughout North and South Dakota. The cards have a cash value of $2,750 and will be distributed by the hospital to families being treated there to help pay for incidentals during their hospital stay. Hillery Mork, Lead Development Officer for Sanford Health Foundation, appeared at the association’s awards banquet that was held at the Delta Hotel on May 10th to accept the gift.

“Credit unions are the 5th largest corporate sponsor of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and Dakota credit unions continue to show their great support,” said Jeff Olson, President/CEO of Dakota Credit Union Association. “Financial wellness is at the heart of credit unions’ mission within our communities and deeply embedded into our structure. We hope these gift cards will assist those families in some small way as they are undergoing care at North Dakota’s CMN Hospital,” he added.
