SALT LAKE CITY, UT (August 6, 2014) — On Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014, credit union associates across the nation are invited to wear jeans in support of their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. For a $5 donation, employees can participate in Miracle Jeans Day, an annual fundraiser for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals®. The charity raises funds and awareness for 170 children’s hospitals.

New this year is an updated Miracle Jeans Day t-shirt, specifically designed for credit unions, as well as preprinted stickers and free paper icons, so credit unions can include members in their celebration.

“Bayer Heritage Federal Credit Union supports Miracle Jeans Day because it’s a great fundraising event for Children’s Miracle Network. The proceeds will help CMN Hospitals near our branch locations support research, purchase equipment, and create medical opportunities for acutely ill infants and children, all in support of the mission to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.” said Karon Sebar, Community Outreach Coordinator. “In addition to employees donating to wear jeans, we also sell Miracle Jeans Day icons to members in the weeks leading up to the big day. Our members really enjoy helping us raise funds for such a worthy cause.”

In 2013, approximately 55,000 credit union employees participated in Miracle Jeans Day and raised more than $300,000 for member hospitals. The credit union community has been raising funds under the “Credit Unions for Kids” brand since 1996 and has collected more than $130 million for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
