CU*Answers invests in My Virtual StrongBox® for clients

GRAND RAPIDS, MI (May 12, 2015) — CU*Answers, the West Michigan-based core data processor, has agreed to purchase Virtual StrongBox services for the over 200 credit unions utilizing its CU*BASE® processing system nationwide. CU*Answers will provide every credit union, free of charge, with virtual storage space for members to store various documents in an electronic safety deposit box. CU*Answers says this service will immediately enhance the overall processing and online banking experience for both its client credit unions and the over 1.7 million members they serve.

Earlier this year, CU*Answers introduced the integration of My Virtual StrongBox with It’s Me 247 Online Banking, allowing members to store their personal documents without having to leave online banking. As part of a three-way partnership between CU*Answers, eDOC Innovations, and Virtual StrongBox, the organizations are developing a mechanism for the secure delivery of documents, such as e-receipts, directly from the CU*BASE core platform to the member’s electronic depository. The member will then be able to retrieve those documents via the It’s Me 247 Online Banking system in an SSO environment.

Members now have a trusted way to protect their important documents from accidentally being lost or destroyed, and being reassured at having immediate access to these documents in a secured environment offered by their credit union rather than an unknown cloud based solution. For the credit union, this represents a differentiator for helping serve, retain and attract new members. We believe this is going to be a real winner!”

CU*BASE clients desiring a deeper, more encompassing solution will be able to contract with Virtual Strongbox for additional services, including licensing additional storage space for credit union members to securely store and retrieve personal documents such as wills, trusts, medical records and photos. They added this solution also provides credit union branding options, user/ administrative dashboard tools and much more.
