CU*Answers signs start-up credit union

GRAND RAPIDS, MI (December 10, 2013) —  Core data processing CUSO, CU*Answers, has announced the signing of the newly formed Northern Eagle Federal Credit Union (Minnesota) to a CU*BASE® agreement. The credit union is taking advantage of the CUSO’s “Starting A Credit Union With CU*Answers” program, which provides free CU*BASE data processing services to new credit unions for an initial two year period.

Nichole Pieratos, CEO said, “Our credit union will open two locations in January, 2014. Northern Eagle will serve the tribal members and employees of the Bois Forte Band of Chippewa, located in Northeastern Minnesota. While there have been hundreds or thousands of decisions made in our start-up phase, picking the “right” data processor was among the most important. It was pretty much a slam-dunk. CU*Answers had the best price strategy for start-ups and most user-friendly capabilities, which is especially critical for our start-up initiative.”

Scott Page, CU*Answers EVP added that the program has been embraced by several start-up credit unions nationally. The program is designed to provide a level of reassurance and financial stability for a new credit union by offering a deep level of services to members, including a variety of self-service products, in a much faster, cost-effective manner than ever thought possible. He encouraged any potential new credit union leader to contact CU*Answers for details regarding this program.
