CUbroadcast Celebrates 200th Episode with CU Water Cooler’s Tim McAlpine and Matt Davis

SAN DIEGO, CA (July 26, 2013) — Credit union online video talk show CUbroadcast celebrates its 200th episode interviewing Filene’s Matt Davis and Currency Marketing’s Tim McAlpine on their CU Water Cooler Symposium show coming up October 2013.

Both Tim and Matt say they are not conference creators/developers by any stretch. Could’ve fooled all the attendees that have been to their highly successful CU Water Cooler Symposium (October 17-18, 2013) events for the past three years. Tim and Matt have described this annual gathering not so much as a conference, but an event where passionate credit union folks can listen and exchange ideas at a very high level.

As for CUbroadcast turning 200, Host Mike Lawson says, “Wahoo!” The industry’s online video talk show has interviewed credit union folks from NCUA’s Debbie Matz, CUNA’s Bill Cheney, and NAFCU’s Fred Becker to Moven’s Brett King, The Disclosures’ Christopher Morris and Chad Helminak, and CUES Chuck Fagan. And this was just a sampling of the first half of 2013. Other guests this year have been CO-OP’s Samantha Paxson, Finovate’s Eric Mattson, CU Social Good’s Robbie Thompson, CUES Fred Johnson, PSCU’s Mike Kelly, LendKey’s Vince Passione, CU Heroes’ Andy Janning, L9’s Spencer Pryce and Jason Powell, and plenty more.

“This has been such a fun ride the past two-and-a-half years of doing these online interviews,” Lawson says. “I have met so many fantastic folks in this industry who are incredibly humble and passionate about their cause. It’s a very refreshing escape from other industries. Credit union people are so eager to tell their story – and that’s what makes everybody so compelling to talk to. I look forward to another 200 and many more.”

Lawson adds that CUbroadcast has some significant plans in the second half of 2013 that will make the show much more attractive to watch – along with other features to help viewers gain even more valuable information further benefiting the industry.

“Again, I am so grateful for all our guests and sponsors on CUbroadcast,” he adds. “I obviously couldn’t have made it this far without them – along with our growing audience. Creating these though-provoking and entertaining conversations that ultimately help make this industry better is what I love to do.”
