CUCollaborate’s “Credit Union Match” Kickstarter raises $50,352

WASHINGTON, DC (April 14, 2015) — CUCollaborate™ is pleased to announce that its “Credit Union Match” Kickstarter Project is now fully funded having raised $50,352.

The project, which exceeded its original goal of raising $40,000 by more than twenty-five percent, received contributions from 212 different backers. The project’s backers consisted of consumers, credit unions, and companies that work with credit unions. The 147 individual credit unions that backed the project contributed the bulk of the total monies raised; however, the largest individual contributions came from, CO-OP Financial Services (www.co-opfs.org), PSCU (www.pscu.com), and Arizona Federal Credit Union.

“The goal of Credit Union Match is ultimately to help our entire movement by making it easier for potential new members to find the best credit union for them,” said Samantha Paxson, Chief Marketing Officer, CO-OP Financial Services. “We congratulate CUCollaborate on reaching its funding goal and look forward to the next steps in launching this initiative.”

PSCU’s Myles Bristowe commented “I am thrilled that the credit union industry rallied behind CU Collaborate in order to help exceed the goal! This is an important reminder that we, as an industry, are always stronger together.”

CUCollaborate will now conduct a series of webinars for credit unions, as part of a focus group, to continue gathering feedback on Credit Union Match’s functionalities and different proposed business models that CUCollaborate could implement to support it. Members of the focus group will then vote on the platform’s final functionalities and corresponding business model. If you are interested in participating in this focus group, please contact CUCollaborate.

CUCollaborate hopes that Credit Union Match can serve as the foundation for a sustainable, well-funded collaborative marketing campaign. CUCollaborate plans to develop the website and search engine and share the tool for free with any organization interested in hosting the search engine on its website. Credit Union Match should be live and ready for use no later than July of 2015.
