MADISON, Wis.—Looking to the future, the Credit Union Executives Society has added five new schools in 2012 to help credit unions improve profitability and keep their institutions strong. This is important because, “According to researchers at Bain & Company, ‘The odds of achieving sustained, profitable growth remain challenging: Only about one in 10 companies worldwide managed to grow profits and revenues more than 5.5% over the 10 years ending in 2008, and earn back their cost of capital,’” states a 2011 Filene Research Institute study, Credit Union Financial Sustainability: A Colloquium at Harvard University.

CUES’ fresh professional development opportunities include:

-CUES School of Growth and Profitability™, designed to help boost revenue by developing new value propositions and increasing efficiency

-CUES School of Consumer Lending™, geared toward increasing credit union interest income by gaining more of members’ business

-CUES Advanced School of Consumer Lending™ , provides guidance in improving lending and sales results by expanding loan growth strategies

-CUES School of Strategic Marketing™, helps enhance growth by expanding into strategy-focused and data-driven marketing

-CUES School of Product and Channel Management™, teaches how to fuel the bottom line by effectively reaching target markets with new product trends

Each school is two or three days in length and focuses on specific, hot topics in the industry. Intended to be intimate educational opportunities, every CUES school educates executives in a short time and gets them back to their credit unions to put to work what they’ve learned.

“CUES keep its finger on the pulse of the industry,” says Fred Johnson, CUES’ president and CEO. “Our goal is to give the movement’s leaders the education they need to help their organizations remain robust in order to serve their members and communities.”
