MADISON, Wis.—The Credit Union Executives Society is pleased to recognize 42 credit union executives who recently completed all three years of its prestigious executive education program, CEO Institute. In addition, 26 of the graduates earned their Certified Chief Executive (CCE) designation, signifying their ongoing commitment to professional development. They join the ranks of 403 credit union leaders who have also obtained their CCE, and who are recognized throughout the credit union movement as having established a standard of educational excellence.

This three-part graduate-level program takes participants through the full spectrum of leadership preparation. Each of the intensive, week-long programs is held at a top-ranked business school. David Tuyo II, EVP/CFO, Pen Air Federal Credit Union, Pensacola, Fla., says attendance at all three CEO Institutes allowed him to establish and build relationships that he’ll rely on for the rest of his career. “It’s an extraordinary program, where you really start at the global approach first with strategic planning. Then you bring that into your organizational estimate with Institute II. And finally, in Institute III, you focus on yourself—the person and the leader. As far as executive education goes, this is as good as it gets. I’m a better leader and person because of this program.”

Fifty-eight percent of CEO Institute graduates who attended between 2005-2010 reported promotions after graduation, with 40% advancing to president/CEO level. According to Fred Johnson, CUES’ president/CEO, “CUES is committed to ensuring that every educational opportunity we provide for credit union executives is an unparalleled value. For executives who work hard in this program and remain dedicated to their professional development, the ROI is unmatched. We are honored to have a role in these executives’ success.”
