Registration is open for the third annual event

MADISON, Wis. – CUNA Mutual Group’s third annual, daylong Online Discovery Conference is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 9, offering numerous credit union-focused sessions from the convenience of a desktop computer or laptop – for free.

The Online Discovery Conference is the Web-based equivalent of a face-to-face conference without the associated expenses, or time away from the office. “The beauty of Online Discovery is the convenience,” said Jim Buchheim, vice president, Corporate Communications for CUNA Mutual Group. “We’ve evolved the online learning experience of the conference to create an even better fit for our credit unions – all the while, keeping it free for everyone.”

We are still finalizing all of the session details and we will make an announcement this summer with the full lineup. The sessions are focused on the needs of our credit union audience. Also included in the conference are networking opportunities, live chat rooms, message boards, social media connections, prizes and a full interactive exhibit hall.

This year we are adding full video and audio experiences for every session in the online conference. “We discovered that people prefer watching presentations rather than just listening,” said Buchheim. “Therefore, videos of every session and the keynote speaker’s presentation will be on your computer screen for you to see and hear.”

At home or in the office, people can log in and expect a full day of industry-changing information that they can use immediately. “Our Online Discovery Conference is really an extension of our face-to-face conference at ACUC and we are happy to bring back this innovative learning experience for a third year in a row,” said Buchheim.

The online event is designed for CEOs and senior leadership teams of credit unions, but all credit union and league employees are welcome.

Attendees can come and go from the conference as they please. This provides great flexibility to allow many staff members from the same organization to attend, if even for just a few hours.

“We’ve had such wonderful success with our Discovery Webinar series and this online event allows us to expand on so many important topics for the credit union industry in a way that makes you feel like we’re all in the same room,” said Buchheim.

Registration to the Online Discovery Conference guarantees full access to the conference and all materials even after the event is over. Buchheim added, “Registered individuals can watch and listen to all session recordings and download event materials for nine months after the event.”
