CUs support Burchett and Green in Thursday primary

WASHINGTON, DC (August 2, 2018) — The Credit Union National Association (CUNA) and its political action committee, the Credit Union Legislative Action Committee (CULAC), are closely watching the competitive races of two credit-union friendly candidates in Tennessee.

In Tennessee’s 2nd Congressional District, CULAC and the Tennessee Credit Union League are supporting Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett in the Republican primary to fill the seat of Rep. John Duncan (R), who is set to retire.

Credit unions are backing State Sen. Mark Green (R) in the state’s 7th Congressional District. Green is running unopposed for the Republican nomination for the seat of Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R), who is running for senate.
