Dakota Credit Union chapters sponsor Biz Kid$ box sets for CMN Hospitals

BISMARCK, ND (March 12, 2014) — When Credit Unions for Kids & the National Credit Union Foundation partnered to enhance the financial education opportunities for patients and families at every Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) hospital in the U.S., three Dakota credit union chapters immediately jumped on board.

Biz Kid$ is the Emmy Award winning and credit union funded public television series that teaches kids about money management and entrepreneurship, and now, each of the three  Dakota Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals  will have a box set of Biz Kid$ DVDs for patients and families to enjoy.

The sets were purchased by:

Red River Chapter of Credit Unions for Sanford Children’s Hospital in Fargo, ND;
Old West Chapter of Credit Unions for Regional Health in Rapid City, SD;
And Sioux Valley Chapter of Credit Unions for Sanford Children’s in Sioux Falls, SD.

“Our credit unions and credit union chapters in the Dakotas have shown increasing support for the Children’s Miracle Hospitals over the last several years, participating in national events such as Miracle Jeans Day and holding individual fundraisers such as bake sales and garage sales” said CUAD President/CEO Robbie Thompson.  “This is just another great example of the good that credit unions do for their communities each and every day,” he added.

In addition to helping the kids in the hospitals, each box set of Biz Kid$ DVDs for the CMN Hospitals donation program has been specially created with room for to customize the DVD box set so patients and families know who donated the program.

 “We hope the donation of the Biz Kid$ program will develop an even deeper credit union/hospital relationship where credit unions not only support the financial needs of the hospital but also the financial needs of the patient families,” said Danielle Brown, NCUF Director of Development and Donor Relations.

Headquartered in Bismarck, ND, the Credit Union Association of the Dakotas (CUAD) is the professional financial trade association serving 75 credit unions in North and South Dakota with assets in excess of $5.5 billion and serving over 461,300 credit union members.
