Dates announced for 2019 CUNA Credit Union Finance for Boards & Committees Workshop

WASHINGTON, DC (April 3, 2019) — Registration is now open for CUNA Credit Union Finance for Boards & Committees Workshop, October 21-22, 2019 in Phoenix. This workshop is designed for credit union board and committee members to gain a fundamental education in credit union financial concepts, terminology and functions.

“This workshop is a great way to learn about credit union finance,” said past attendee Shanna Wright, board chair at Palmetto Health CU. The speaker was engaging, and I feel more confident in my understanding of my organization’s financials.”

Led by Tim Harrington, president of the credit union consulting, strategic planning and training firm TEAM Resources, the event is comprised of instructive, accessible sessions packed with high-impact content on the fundamentals of credit union finance.

“Having the knowledge on how to read financial statements and provide meaningful input during board and committee meetings is critical to succeed in these roles,” said Kristin Ryan, director of learning events at CUNA. “We built this program to help those who may not have a lot of financial background understand their role and responsibilities when it comes to financials.”

Board and committee members who attend the conference can earn the CUNA Credit Union Board Financial Literacy Certificate, which fully satisfies the NCUA’s requirements of financial education for board members.
