DCECU employees hold “Pink Out” to raise money, awareness for Midland Cancer Services

MIDLAND, MI (November 6, 2013) — Dow Chemical Employees’ Credit Union recently raised nearly $1,700 for Midland Cancer Services through its third annual “Pink Out” silent auction.

DCECU’s management team and staff donated brand-new items for the auction on October 30, including gift cards, jewelry, a custom photo package, a designer purse and various gift baskets. The event also featured a bake sale for the first time. The internal event raised a total of $1,676.50.

“Our staff at DCECU truly believes in giving back to the community,” said DCECU President/CEO Dennis Hanson. “The Pink Out is completely driven by the passion of our employees, who planned and executed all aspects of the event.”

The Pink Out is just one aspect of DCECU’s year-round commitment to supporting local charities and community organizations. Other recent fundraisers have included “Jeans Days” and bake sales, which have supported St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the American Cancer Society, Relay for Life and more.

“Participating in fundraising throughout the year is something we pride ourselves on at DCECU,” Hanson said. “By supporting organizations that assist those who need it most, we know we are helping to make the world a better place. Our employees work hard to serve not only our credit union members, but the entire community.”
