DCECU Employees Raise Money to Benefit Charitable Organizations

MIDLAND, MI (March 27, 2013) Employees at Dow Chemical Employees’ Credit Union raised more than $850 for charitable organizations through their most recent “Jeans Day” fundraisers. For each of the one-day fundraisers, which occur throughout the year, participating DCECU employees donate a minimum of $5, which entitles them to wear blue jeans, tennis shoes and logoed attire to work that day.

  • In February, staff members raised $405 for Leader Dogs for the Blind, which provides a free guide dog, GPS training, and orientation and mobility programs to the blind and visually impaired to enhance mobility, independence and quality of life.
  • In March, staff members raised $458 for the Good Samaritan Rescue Mission of Bay City – a division of the City Rescue Mission of Saginaw – which provides emergency assistance, including clothing, shelter, referrals to local agencies, counseling and life skills classes.

“DCECU regularly promotes fundraisers to help support nonprofit organizations that assist members of our community in the Great Lakes Bay Region,” said DCECU President/CEO Dennis Hanson. “We emphasize the importance of giving back year-round.”
