Donald Thompson inducted into Credit Union Hall of Fame

BISMARCK, ND (June 23, 2014) — Donald Thompson was recently inducted into the Credit Union Hall of Fame.  The event took place during the Credit Union Association of the Dakotas’ Awards Banquet held at the Sioux Falls Convention Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, on June 6, 2014.

Donald Thompson has been a member of the Service First Federal Credit Union in Sioux Falls, SD since 1960 – when it was a little building at the entrance of the Morrell Plant with three employees – to the present credit union with a main office, four branches, and sixty employees.  He has served on Service First FCU’s Board of Directors from 1982 to present, the Credit Committee from 1982 to 1987, was 1st Vice Chair from 1990 to 1995, and served on the Supervisory Committee from 1995 to 1996.  Thompson has also been instrumental in legislative efforts in Pierre, South Dakota and in Washington, DC.

Credit Union Association of the Dakotas (CUAD) is the trade association serving credit unions in the Dakotas. CUAD serves 67 credit unions in North and South Dakota, serving over 436,000 members with assets in excess of $5.5 billion.
