Dr. Keith Everson elected Chairperson of the Board at Peach State Federal Credit Union
LAWRENCEVILLE, GA (April 25, 2019) — Peach State Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce the election of Dr. Keith Everson as Chairperson of the Board following their Annual Meeting on April 15th. This comes after their previous Chairperson, Rick Davis, stepped down from that position.
Davis has served on the credit union’s Board since 1999 and held the role of Chairperson since 2013. “We are very grateful for Rick’s contributions and leadership as our Chairperson,” said Peach State’s President/CEO, Marshall Boutwell. “He has helped shape the future of the credit union, guiding us through significant growth and change during his 19 years of service.”
Dr. Everson joined Peach State’s Board in 2004 and previously held the title of Vice Chairperson. Dr. Linda Anderson, who previously served as Secretary/Treasurer, is now Vice Chairperson, and Robert Bradford has taken on the role of Secretary/Treasurer.
Dr. Everson is the Executive Director of the Northeast Georgia Regional Educational Service Agency (RESA), a resource that provides educational services to the 14 school districts in the northeast Georgia area. He has more than 30 years of experience in public school service and has been a member of Peach State for over 30 years.
Dr. Everson’s first significant experience with the credit union was as a college student needing $250 to complete the spring quarter of his freshman year. “I had no job during the school year, but intended to work over the summer to repay a loan,” he recalled. Peggy Kilgroe, Peach State’s first full-time (and still active) employee, approved him for the $250 loan and that kindness has stuck with him for over 30 years. “I believe in the credit union philosophy of people helping people and was grateful for the opportunity to join the Board of Directors. I am also grateful to my Board colleagues for trusting me to represent them and Peach State as their Chair,” he said.
“Keith has been a valued member of our Board since he joined 15 years ago,” remarked Boutwell. “His career in education and dedication to the credit union is a perfect fit with our foundation and values.”
