Educational Systems Federal Credit Union awards $68,000 in scholarships and professional development awards

GREENBELT, MD (June 29, 2018) — Educational Systems Federal Credit Union recently awarded $68,000 in student scholarships and professional development awards to Support Education and make a difference in the education community.

The Credit Union awarded eight $3,000 Dorothy Marvil Scholarships to the following graduating high school seniors:
  • Anne Arundel County: Azhane Rowe, Indian Creek Upper School
  • Calvert County: Craig Eichelberger, Northern High School
  • Charles County: Elisha Barrientos, Southern Maryland Christian Academy
  • Montgomery County: Madeleine Allou, Montgomery Blair High School
  • Prince George’s County: Stephanie Crawford, Bowie High School
  • St. Mary’s County: Colin Maher, Chopticon High School
  • Talbot County: Tiffany Zheng, Easton High School
  • Washington D.C.: Naomi Dawy, National Cathedral School
Educational Systems FCU also awarded eight $3,000 Rosemary Brinkley Business and Finance Scholarships to the following graduating high school seniors who completed the business and finance curriculum at their respective school:
  • Anne Arundel County: Nolan Marks, Severna Park High School
  • Calvert County: Thomas Weiskircher, Huntingtown High School
  • Charles County: Virgil Thomas, North Point High School
  • Frederick County: Timothy O’Donnell, Catoctin High School
  • Montgomery County: Lauren Woodward, Thomas S. Wootton High School
  • Prince George’s County: Monique Brown, Charles Herbert Flowers High School
  • St. Mary’s County: Alexis Plater, Chopticon High School
  • Talbot County: Kelley Magill, Easton High School
In addition, three $3,000 scholarships were awarded to students currently enrolled at each of the community colleges served by the Credit Union:
  • College of Southern Maryland: X’amis Johnson
  • Montgomery College: Alix Tiako
  • Prince George’s Community College: Sabria Richardson
To help educators continue with their learning, a $1,000 Professional Development Award was presented to the following 11 individuals:
Public Schools:
  • Anne Arundel County: Kristopher Effler, Board of Education
  • Calvert County: Dr. Grace Hanners, Huntingtown High School
  • Charles County: LeShone HoSang Navies, St. Charles High School
  • Montgomery County: Robert Mitchell, Sligo Middle School
  • Prince George’s County: Rose Mary Bunag, Thomas Claggett Teacher Leadership Center
  • St. Mary’s County: Asia McNeil, Captain Walter Francis Duke Elementary School
  • Talbot County: Amy Palmer, St. Michael’s Elementary School
Community Colleges
  • College of Southern Maryland: Kimberley Donnelly
  • Montgomery College: Karen Callender
  • Prince George’s Community College: Dena Wilson
