Financial Plus Credit Union awards $1,000 scholarship to deserving college student

FLINT, MI (October 14, 2021) — Financial Plus Credit Union is proud to award the “myCollege Checking Scholarship” to student Dylan McMullen. The sole recipient received a $1,000 scholarship to use towards any academic needs during the 2021-2022 school year.

“Each candidate who applied had a compelling story and articulated themselves well. We were especially impressed with the academic prowess of the applicants. After lots of discussion, we agreed that Dylan’s submission was a great representation of students who are beginning their financial future. Dylan has learned how to be financially responsible at a young age and has passed along knowledge to his peers,” said Kristen Brisbin, Public Relations and Social Media Specialist.

From Davison, Michigan, Dylan is a sophomore perusing a major in Nursing at Oakland University. He is a current member of the Honors College at Oakland, is on the “President’s List,” and continues to play hockey throughout his schooling. A former instructor referred to McMullen as an outstanding individual who excels in both his academic and personal pursuits.
