Financial Plus Credit Union was eager to raise funds for local breast cancer patients during its annual Pink Bake Sale. The sale occurred on October 1st at every branch location, and all proceeds benefited Hurley’s Breast Cancer Navigation Program and Genesys Hurley Cancer Institute.
Hurley’s Breast Cancer Patient Navigation Program is a vital year-round program that is a free service to help local men and women during treatment and recovery. The program identifies gaps within patient care and assists with financial hardships a patient might encounter.
“There was an overwhelming amount of support from community members and Financial Plus staff; we’re very thankful for everyone’s generosity. The funds raised from our bake sale will give an opportunity to provide assistance to local breast cancer patients in our community” said Kristen Brisbin, Public Relations and Social Media Specialist and Pink Night Palooza Co-Chair.
Overall, Financial Plus raised a grand total of $4,000 from members, branch employees, and donations towards the Bake Sale. Financial Plus Credit Union has a long history of giving back to breast cancer awareness, education, and support including partnering with Hurley Medical Center on Pink Night Palooza. Pink Night Palooza is an annual event that raises funds and awareness to benefit those affected by breast cancer, and all proceeds go towards the Hurley Breast Cancer Navigation program.
