First Capital helps children in crisis

YORK, PA (December 16, 2013) —  On December 11, 2013, First Capital Federal Credit Union held its holiday party during which we raffled off baskets to support the Lehman Center. The baskets were made up of items donated by our staff, Select Employee Groups, and others affiliated with the Credit Union.  The baskets were all unique in that each was themed and included everything from gift cards and food to a Kindle Fire HD and DVDs.  Employees purchased tickets or brought in donations to receive tickets to enter to win a basket.  In all, the basket raffle raised $1,041.00 and provided dozens of wish list items to the Lehman Center, one of three “crisis nursery” locations in the York/Adams County area.  The center offers emergency respite care for children birth through six years of age in a 24-hour crisis nursery, art and child-centered therapy, family advocate services, and parent support groups.  This is all part of First Capital’s commitment to the community.

First Capital Federal Credit Union is a $150 million asset-size, credit union with nearly 18,000 members based in York, PA.  Founded in 1954 as S. Morgan Smith Credit Union, First Capital has merged and grown, and continues to work closely with 400 companies and organizations throughout York County and across the country.
