First-ever credit union business development professionals named onsite at CUNA FUSE

MADISON, WI (September 12, 2014) –- CUNA is proud to announce the first group of credit union professionals to earn the newly offered Credit Union Business Development Professional (CUBDP) designation. The 40 designees earned their new credentials by demonstrating exemplary knowledge and expertise during CUNA FUSE: Branch Operations & Business Development School this past August.

“CUNA FUSE literally lit the fuse for the group of business development professionals eager to engage, share and promote one another in a dynamic setting. Having been in this industry for almost a decade, I walked away with fresh ideas, new resources, a supportive business development posse, and a strategic focus for my credit union. I am proud to say I am a graduate of CUNA FUSE and a certified Credit Union Business Development Professional,” stated Natalie Bradley of Ventura County Credit Union in Ventura, California.

Every year, CUNA FUSE gives attendees a chance to break down traditional barriers between disciplines, discuss innovative ideas for fueling growth and explore blended approaches to their job duties alongside credit union branch managers and business development professionals. The CUBDP designation, which was developed in collaboration with and is endorsed by the CUNA Marketing and Business Development Council, is now available to anyone who attends the school’s entire Business Development Track and successfully completes the onsite exam.

“Early on it was clear that we’d done the right thing in creating this designation,” said Kathy Smith, Instructional Design Manager of Learning Events. “Every one of the new CUBDP’s has shown that they have what it takes to step up and be an authority on business development and a representative for their credit union.”

The CUBDP designation showcases the initiative and expertise of credit union professionals who have successfully demonstrated knowledge of the most pertinent aspects of being a credit union business developer. For anyone interested in earning the CUBDP designation, next year’s CUNA FUSE will be held August 17-20, 2015 in Seattle, Washington.
