FORUM Credit Union’s Spirit Advisory Council celebrates ten years of service

Indianapolis, IN (April 23, 2015) — FORUM Credit Union’s Spirit Advisory Council, which was created to facilitate community partnerships that positively contribute to the well-being of the community, is proudly celebrating its tenth year of service.

The Spirit Advisory Council provides leadership and direction for FORUM’s partnerships with the community. In effort to enhance these partnerships, FORUM employees select a special Charity of Choice to sponsor each year. In the last ten years, FORUM has raised more than $200,000 for a variety of Indiana non-profits including Dayspring Center, Prevail, Inc., Agape Therapeutic Riding Services, Hamilton County Humane Society and The Julian Center. FORUM raised more than $38,000 in 2014, making it one of the largest fundraising years. In addition to monetary fundraising, employees have also donated necessary supplies to the organizations including a van, tractor, canned food, technology equipment, and pillows and blankets.

FORUM’s newest Charity of Choice, Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA), raises funds to assist families with children in need of life-saving organ transplants by providing fundraising assistance and family support. Since 1986, COTA’s priority is assure that no child or young adult is denied a transplant or excluded from a transplant waiting list due to lack of funds. The organization has helped more than 2,200 children and adults and has raised more than $75 million for transplant-related expenses. To find out more about COTA, please visit www.cota.org.

As part of its Charity of Choice program, FORUM employees take part in various fundraisers and events throughout the year. FORUM most recently held its sixth annual Tax Day “Break”fast Celebration which featured a special pancake breakfast for employees. In addition to the breakfast, FORUM employees have also been able to participate in a variety of fundraising efforts including FORUM’s Souperbowl Cook-off, an employee auction, and $5 Jean Days.
