FORUM CU’s Doug True inducted into Indiana Credit Union Hall of Fame

Doug True, CEO of FORUM CU, was inducted into the Indiana Credit Union Hall of Fame during the Indiana Credit Union League’s statewide convention. He was honored at the Chairman’s Awards Banquet at the JW Marriott Hotel on October 12.

Since coming to the credit union in 1988 as a management trainee, True has risen to the position of CEO of the credit union which serves more than 150,000 members. Early in his career he developed the TAPS ® lending software solution that was used at FORUM CU as well as at credit unions around the country. He was the first-ever recipient of the League’s Emerging Leadership Award in 2007, and his skills and talent have been recognized with the CUES Technology Executive Award and Rising 100 Award. His biggest contribution to the next generation of credit union leaders in Indiana is the development of the League’s ignite initiative after serving as an inaugural member of the Filene Research Council’s i3 group. More than 100 igniters have been part of the League’s ignite program which is in its eleventh year.

True currently serves on the League’s Audit & Finance, Governmental Affairs and Products & Services Committees, and he was a member of the League board of directors from 2008-2017. He was chairman of the board from 2014-2015.
