Foundation showcases program reach in new interactive impact map

The National Credit Union Foundation (the Foundation) has debuted an Impact Map that highlights the Foundation’s programs, projects, and Credit Union Development Educators (CUDEs) in each state.  The Impact Map is the first installment of the new feature on the ncuf.coop website, and phase 2 of the map will be released in the coming months that will highlight more extensive grant information.

“This new map is a great visual representation of how the Foundation makes a difference improving people’s financial lives across the country through credit unions,” said Gigi Hyland, Foundation Executive Director. “Among other activities, the Impact Map shows who and where credit unions, leagues, state foundations and others use Foundation resources to help people achieve financial freedom.”

The Impact Map displays to credit unions and credit union professionals what their state is involved in when it comes to Foundation programs and initiatives, such as Biz Kid$, Experiential Learning programs, Non-Prime Auto Lending, Development Education (DE) projects and participants,  and more.  This provides a resource for those credit unions who are unsure if their state is participating in a certain program, best practices, and can also be used as a networking tool.

“One of the most important things that credit unions can do is to tell their story,” said Lacey Adler, Foundation Coordinator of Marketing and Communications. “Showing the impact and scale of initiatives around the country better exemplifies the credit union difference. The Foundation’s new Impact Map assists credit union individuals and organizations by illustrating the impact they are having in their state through Foundation-related programs.”
